Hi All, Hey Lars, Any plane to have directly the "miror" property on a surface, directly by editing materials ? Especialy for round shapes ? thank you.
Smoothness is already the miroring property. If we had full raytracing that could have been enough. It's something we will look into in the future of course.
Hello!
Our students didn't miss this class in the Capture Brasil Study Group courses! :-)))
I think there's a misunderstanding about the question.
If I place the Reflection Plane and simply go outside the shape and reach other surfaces with the rectangles, I will have unwanted cuts or leftovers in the reflection.
Look at it, please.
Firstly, yes, with Reflection Plane I can limit areas, but currently only with rectangular shapes.
This has nothing to do with the qualities of the materials and textures used.
On the other hand, the fact that we can't create perfect shapes or shapes with polygons creates limitations; take a look at the resulting reflection shadows.
In these two images the difference is subtle, but in the first one you can see the curved shape of the reflection at the height of the guitar, and in the second one on Iuki's legs; the reflection of the shins is unintended, ouside de disc shape.
The material of both surfaces is the same, copied with minor adjustments for each surface, but I do NOT want the outer surface to reflect objects; however, it should still suffer the interferences inherent to a PBR when I view it..
Okay, you might say, just lower the outer surface a little to get rid of the reflection plane effect.
Do that on the steps of a spiral staircase and you'll better understand the need for reflection planes made with polygons!
:-)
Very well explained, Oz
You have lost me completely Oz, but it's clear that this isn't a feature request but a bug report, so please e-mail support@capture.se and make sure to send the project file as well!
oops...
sorry.
sent.
thanks.
