Hey there! This has happened to me quite a few times but when Importing a MVR from Vectorworks into capture, some of the models normals seemed to be flipped.
This results in parts of the model with black surfaces on the "outside" that do not take light and do not cast shadows correctly.
Is there a way to flip surface normals in capture? Or is there a work around that anyone has found? Thanks!
Ah! This may be related to a problem I had with a mesh coming in from Blender. See this topic. The (temporary) workaround with the help of the tech support at Capture was to play with the back projection value of the applied material. I hope this solves your issue too.
