Tearing in visualisation
63 0 - Started by Lars Wernlund, last post from 2025-04-23 15:27
No, not tears, but rather visual glitches, or seams, between screen updates. It&39;s explained and illustrated well in this Wikipedia article.
While tearing can occur in Capture in both Windows and macOS, it is a lot more prevalent on Windows - and particularly after the last Windows update 24H2 in the fall last year. Microsoft made some architectural changes there that hit Capture hard.
While we just released Capture 2025, we wanted to let you know that we are currently working on some i...

One of these improvements will be support for SketchUp 2025 files and their new PBR material model.

Removing support for Cinema 4D
1085 7 - Started by Lars Wernlund, last post from Lars Wernlund
We are planning to remove the support for Cinema 4D import in the near future and would like to hear from you how that would impact your workflows.
The reason for removing Cinema 4D import is that it is becoming cumbersome to maintain and we&39;re not very happy with the state it is in. Key shortcomings include lack of PBR material support, only supporting flat and UVW texture mapping and no support for animations. Given that Cinema 4D now has glTF export we would rather spend the developmen...

macOS Sequoia
507 1 - Started by Lars Wernlund, last post from Derek Jones
The latest version of macOS, 15.0 Sequoia, is expected to be released today.
We have tested Capture 2024 on macOS Sequoia and we could not find any issues. As such Capture 2024 now officially supports macOS Sequoia and we have updated the download page to reflect this.
Having said that, it&39;s always wise to upgrade your OS with caution on mission critical systems. Especially so perhaps if you are also relying on any non-Apple device drivers.

SoundSwitch 2.9 with new Art-Net option
280 1 - Started by Lars Wernlund, last post from Lars Wernlund
We have just been informed that SoundSwitch 2.9 has been released, with a new option to output Art-Net to "localhost" (the same computer).
There is a new check box in the Hardware tab under Preferences called "Localhost Art-Net Node" that you need to check if you are running Capture on the same computer as SoundSwitch.

ETC Eos with Capture Mobile
1458 0 - Started by Lars Wernlund, last post from 2024-05-05 11:47
Our latest 2024.0.37 release of Capture Mobile has a couple of new tricks up its sleeve!
We have added an entry for Capture in iOS&39;s System Settings. This contains the same connectivity settings for sACN and ETC Eos that you would find in the regular desktop version of Capture.
This means that Capture Mobile can now connect to ETC Eos consoles, receiving and showing the current channel selection and allowing you double tap in Live views to focus the selected fixtures!

Scaling issues with MVR exports
694 0 - Started by Lars Wernlund, last post from 2023-06-07 16:36
A number of users have reported to us that they are experiencing scaling issues when exporting MVR files to MA3 and VectorWorks. These issues occur with objects imported into Capture and objects from Capture&39;s library that have a Drawing Unit set to something else than 1m.
Following communication with MA and VectorWorks, it has been confirmed that this is a bug in both MA3 and VectorWorks - it is not Capture&39;s MVR export that is faulty. Please await software updates from the...

Update: MA-Net3 on macOS Monterey
2224 2 - Started by Lars Wernlund, last post from Lars Wernlund
Now that MA Lighting have released grandMA3 1.6.3.7 which supports macOS 12 Monterey, we have also released Capture 2021.1.11 which reenables MA-Net3 plugins on macOS 12 Monterey.
The MA-Net3 plugin version option in Capture now has a "(disabled)" option. If loading an MA-Net3 plugin causes a crash, Capture will automatically set this so you can start Capture again without loading the problematic MA-Net3 plugin.
