At the moment we're staying away from anything audio. If we do add this it would have to be part of a much larger effort, adding audio support to several more features such as snapshot recording.

Lars I understand the reluctance to not add audio to Capture. Would it be possible to add functionality via DMX control that could start a recording?

I am happy to render the movie and drop it into my favorite DAW (Reaper) which I also use to create my timecode. It does a fantastic job of rendering video.  The challenging part is making sure the video is lined up with the audio.  Because we have to press record on the Capture dialogue window and play on the LX console at the same time it would be nice if there was a way to automate this function.

I think the other way around would be better. So to start the recording of a snapshot remotely. This could be via OSC. This way you can trigger the recording of the snaphot, audio and lighting cues synchronized via an external program such as CueLab.

It could also be done with the start of the recording of the snapshot being triggered with a dmx channel. A trigger channel must then be above 0 to record a new snapshot and when it drops back to zero again the recording stops. Then an external program is not needed..
