Hi,
There really isn't anything to setup. Supported protocols are sACN and Art-Net. It is not uncommon for Wi-Fi routers to block such protocols though, so that's worth checking.
Assuming the original post meant, "help me troubleshoot, I'm on Wifi on both 'insert console here', and 'ipad Capture Mobile', it would be great to have some sort of troubleshooting or FAQ.
Is it really as straightforward as having the iPad on the same Wifi? I don't need to choose a IP address, or 'connect to server' button I see in the app?
Anywhere else to look for troubleshooting tips?
Could you please explain the signal-flow used in the YouTube Demo video? It looks like the connection is over USB.
Personally I am trying to use MagicQ PC (for pre-prod work) to iPad and have tried everything I can think of: trad Wifi, creating a laptop wifi network, tethering both devices off iPhone, Bluetooth 'Internet Sharing', adjusting all IP options.. my last thought is USB->USBC or Thunderbolt-Ethernet -> USBC, hoping that will solve the 'wifi routers that dont' translate the artnet/sACN signal' issue.
Have also tried Capture(rem), Artnet, sACN settings in MagicQ... just at a complete loss, and this would be so helpful to take the GPU processing load off my laptop while programming (and running audio tracks).
Thanks for great software. I've updated to 2022 :)
Best,
M
When recording the webcast we used an ethernet adapter to ensure a stable connection.
There really are no settings or buttons to press!
My issue was that I had all the fixtures as 'Hidden' in Capture setup. Capture on Laptop still shows the light & beams of hidden fixtures, when 'Show Hidden Fixtures' is turned On.
Capture Mobile on iOS does not show the light & beams of hidden fixtures, even when 'Show Hidden Fixtures' is turned on (and therefore the fixtures are visible).
I do also believe that for Artnet, all IPs involved (MagicQ, network card & iPad) should be set within 2.x.x.x
Cheers.
