Hi, it would be really great if the layering created in sketchup could somehow be kept in the import. My designers do a lot of work to create scenes for me only for it to be lost on the import

There is an option in the Import Model window for how to treat layers, including an alternative to keep all layers from the original drawing. Does this cover you?

The label is "Include layers" and the default is "Referenced". If you set it to "All", then all layers will be imported along, regardless of whether they are used or not.
