I am a student and I was provided with a license key for Capture 2021 (Solo), which I downloaded from the website.
Now I realised that Solo edtition gives you access to only one universe. For the project that I am working on, I will need 4 universes in total. What are the options for me, would it be free to download a different version? Also do I need a new license key?

If you are just using Capture to create looks or video clips to show the work you can manually control within Capture up to as many lights as your computer will allow before bogging down. If you want to connect to an external console to program a show using Capture as the visualizer for 4 universes I believe you will have to purchase the quartet version to access four universes.

Well eventually, I might need to connect a console.
But at the moment, I am working on a project with LED strips and I only need to do some programming on the ETC software on my laptop. How would that be possible? Stiil need access to an other edition of Capture?
I don't work with ETC software very often so will have to defer to others whether or not you can connect to Capture with the ETC software only via DMX or ARTNET/SACN. Even if you can do that, it will still only be 1 universe unless you move up to the Quartet version of Capture.

Do you also know how I can download other versions of Capture. Because if I'm not wrong the website doesn't specify which version you can get.
The installation file of Capture is the same for all versions. Depending from the licence key file you will install, you can have access to the allowed number of universes of your licence.
