I am wondering if anyone has had success importing focus positions from VWX to Capture as an MVR.

I understand that the MVR file format is capable of transferring the focus information for conventional lamps (if present in original CAD file). I have been able to do so with a another visualiser but I've had no luck with Capture importing this info so far.

MVR supports named focus points, but the specification is not clear whether the presence of a focus point overrides the orientation of a fixture. We are now working on adopting a rule that when focus points are present these should override the orientation of conventional. Thank you for your feedback.

We noticed during a recent test that fixtures from vwx that were focused using a focusposition, were focussed correctly after importing the mvr into Capture, but those focused using hard x,y,z values were not (they are pointing straight down). Alse the text labels of the focus position come across, the actual focus positions obviously do not (as Capture does not support those).

I think "hard x,y,z values" not coming across is an issue in VectorWorks - please check with them.

According to this forumpost on the ETC website, it seems that Vectorworks has been updated to correct this. It should work better with the latest version of Vectorworks. I will let you know as soon as I have found the time to test this.
