Hi, I am trying to create a sphere that has a generic omnidirectional lamp inside and glows. I need to be able to have a red texture on the sphere so that under normal lighting conditions the sphere appears red but in the dark the sphere is self-illuminated. I have played around with creating spheres within capture and importing models but with no such luck. Am I missing something or is this not possible in Capture ?
Have you considered creating a sphere and applying a material with red base colour and the desired nits in the luminance field of the material?
Hi, I did do this but the aim was to have a DMX controllable fixture inside the sphere, the texture idea is great for still renders but cant be controlled via a console.
In the material you apply to the sphere, you can choose to use a texture generator instead of a base colour and set the rows and columns fields to 1. This way you may control the colour of the material with DMX.
