Ive created a file for a venue that has around 150 fixtures. Each fixture is unpatched, hence I a just wanting to select each fixture group and control them this way. I can successfully create groups for all fixtures and control them this way but when I restart Capture, all but one group "forgets" the assigned fixtures and defaults to the first fixture in the Fixtures tab. Are there limitations for unpatched fixtures in the 2020 Solo edition?

Ultimately, I plan to upgrade to the unlimited licence so I can access all fitting via DMX. But I couldnt see a limitation re unpatched fixtures in the solo edition

When fixtures are not patched, Capture can not store the environment you may have created with fixture's control panes

Many thanks for your reply. The strange thing is that is works perfectly fine until I reopen the file.

If I understand you correctly, I cant use fixture groups unless each fixture is patched. Is this right?

You may have as many unpatched fixtures and objects as you want in your model. But you may only control and save to snapshots (thus recall the stored environment) as many as they are patched. Groups and fixture groups should not be affected whether the fixtures are patched or not.

Hi Vasilis

Cheers for that. It seems that I should still be able to create fixture groups and have these save with the file. Im not wanting to store snapshots as such, just select fixture groups, set some scenes and save the scene as an image file. I dont need to recall the scenes for later. Would the next step be to send you the file?
