Hello Is there a way to sett different materials or textures on imported DWG files. If you use the premade forms or objects in Capture you can sett materials, but not on imported forms? Working with Sketchup and exports as DWG to Capture. And how do I make the groups in Sketchup work in Capture?

Hi Sivert!
Capture is not able to use material information from DXF files, but you can export OBJ or 3DS files from Sketchup instead! You will notice though that while Sketchup supports two-sided faces (one material on each side), no file format is capable of transferring that - only the front side is exported. That means you need to be careful when modelling!

Hi OBJ and 3DS files does not support colors (from sketchup), but only textures. This means that I have to replace every color with a texture that looks like the correct color. There is also a problem with extra lines generated when opening OBJ files in Capture, these lines can´t be removed using the Remome unessential lines tool leaving you with blocking face on some walls. But still wondering why there should be a difference on a box imported form a dwg file and a box made in capture. These two boxes behave the same way exept one can´t be changed in capture.

H Sivert,
Much to my surprise, you're right - colors aren't imported! In the excitement of material support, this simple feature was overlooked. I will see to it that it makes it into the next version!
Regarding the difference in boxes, although the end result is the same on the screen, under the hood they are quite different. The Capture one contains enough information to actually regenerate the box, based on its dimensions, and also important information about texture positions when using the automatic mapping.
