Could "Disable trackpad panoration" at least for Mac users be on by default please?
Since we are assuming that most Mac users would be using a trackpad we would not want to make that the default.
Thanks for your answer. I agree. But now that the behavior of trackpad and mouse seems to be linked, it makes it a bit inconvenient if you are using a mouse with your Mac. Is there any way to solve this?
Indeed it's inconvenient, but we're not aware of any way of fixing it.
Is there any update on this? It is really frustrating that I can only use either my mouse or trackpad, and not both. Currently if I want to swap between my mouse and trackpad I need to change the setting and then quit and restart capture.
I use an external mouse with my laptop. I want the ability to zoom with the scroll wheel on my mouse but simultaneously be able to use the trackpad to pan around.
Maybe this could be your solution: https://mos.caldis.me/?fr...cation&version=3.4.1
This makes the scroll direction of your mouse independent of your trackpad.
We don't expect any update on this to be honest. Apple mice have touch surfaces on the top, like a trackpad built onto the mouse. Prior to that they had a trackball. The Mac simply doesn't have the concept of a scroll wheel and as such what you're looking for likely isn't going to happen as it needs to be supported by the operating system.
The only path out of frustration is likely switching to an Apple mouse and embracing their philosophy.
@Lars - the scroll wheel *does* work though in Capture, once the setting 'disable trackpad panoration' is set. Therefore I dont see how it is a limitation from Apple, because it does work in Capture but only once this setting is changed.
In Vectorworks (for example) I am able to use the scroll wheel on the mouse and also use the trackpad to scroll, so I am not sure where the limitation is
We have had a look at this again since we suspect we have missed something.
However, when we connect an external non-Apple mouse with a scroll wheel, the scroll wheel does zoom. This make us wonder if it could be related to the specific mouse used.
If your non-Apple mouse doesn't zoom, which mouse do you have?
@Lars can you confirm that in this test, disable trackpad panoration is NOT enabled? If it is enabled, then the scroll wheel does work as expected.
I am using a Logitech MX master mouse.
