Hello everybody,

I've been trying to connect grandMA 2 onPC software to Capture for a long time now but had no luck.

I already searched for tutorials, read both gMA2 and Capture manuals and read other people's issues with this... no luck again!

Basically I'm trying to control some fixtures on a Capture project through gMA2 onPC but when I look for the external universe on the "Universes" tab I can find none. I tried both through MA-Net and Art-Net and still no results. I also tried while connected to a network (using it's IP address and changing the relevant settings on the Connectivity tab) and while off-line (by using the defaul 127.0.0.1 address). I also tried by deactivating the firewall but still had no results.

I'm trying to connect them on the same computer (OS Windows 10).

One last thing worthy to mention: when in the "Universes" tab I click on "Configure MA-Net" and then click on "Start" it seems it's working because the button stays "pressed" and I can close the pop-up window. Still, I can't find any external universes. I'm only saying that it seems it works because if I'm connected to a network with a specific IP and try to create a session from gMA2 with the default 127.0.0.1 address the same "Start" button won't stay pressed when I click on it.

grandMA 2 onPC is updated to the latest version (3.6.1.1) as well as Capture (24.1.22)

Thanks in advance for any help!
Cheers,
Giorgio

You have conected some MA hardware to your system to unlock parameters?

Best regards,

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for your reply.

No I haven't connected any hardware to it, I thought that being the two programs on the same pc this wouldn't affect it.
I bet everything's blocked... will try with a command pc wing and let you know how it goes

In order to output anything from a MA software you need to have a piece of MA hardware that acts as a dongle to free parameters.

Of course this applays to outputing data to a different software on the same computer.

Adding a comandwing should do the trick.

Have fun,

Alexander
