Slow navigation and selection in Plot View

Hi guys,

Currently working on a fairly large project, but it's jerky and slow navigating or selecting in any window, as soon as one of the windows is set to Plot. In the Plot view itself it takes up to 3 seconds to select a single fixture.

When no window is set to Plot, everything is beautifully smooth and fast.

Computer is Win 10, quad core i7-6700K 4ghz, GTX 980Ti.

It's making working in the Plot / Paper view very frustrating indeed. I this is known and there's a workaround, please could you let me know?

I came across this a long time ago, but always put it down to my system performance. With this system, I don't see why it should be sluggish selecting a single fixture.

Hey Collin,

Are one of the other windows set to Live view? If so, are there any fixtures outputting light?

My workaround is having the fixtures turned off in the Live view window, and if I need to increase performance even more, I change the Live view window to Wireframe.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. No, unfortunately this occurs even if I make both the other windows wireframe. The drop in performance changing a window to Plot is staggering. It goes from what I would describe as "could not be smoother - perfect" to "oh my god I don't have time for this!" :-)

The project has about 400 fixtures with stage area about 100m x 50m... so not a tiny setup, but I don't understand the drop in performance. Hopefully Lars can shed some light on this...

Strange.

I've added 400 fixtures into my existing 160+ fixtures plot and notcied some loss in performance, but like you've descride. eesh

Is it any better when your plot view is changed to sectional, or front view?
