Hi guys,

For an upcomming project I need gasflames and I wanted to visualize them, but unfortunately it wasn't an easy task. But finally there is a pretty good result I want to share with all of you, use it in your own projects, and maybe post feedback.

Short explanation of what I did:

- First I cut a video of a gasflame into three pieces the beginning, the middlesection as a loop, and the end

- next I created a surface to map this video on, in my case its about 5m high and 85cm wide

- I created a mediaplayer in capture with the three videos in a playlist,

- I mapped it on that surface and set transparency to 100% (so black is transparent)

- next I created a box, where I hid an Arri 5K to illuminate the flame, I also put some omnidirectionals in the flame to light it all the way up.

- the last step was to patch and create a simple cue-list in EOS-Nomad where I control the mediaplayer to pick the right video and play it, when needed.

and here the result:

And here a dropbox-link with all the resourcefiles you need.

Hi all,

I played around with some other Ideas and used my technique for visualizing Flamers to visualize a candle, basically the roots of our Job ;-)

Also animated the flame of course.

Like always use it if you like.
