Hi guys,

Pc windows 8

Gtx 1080 4ghz cpu, 32 gig ddr4 running atlas symphony

I'm trying to import a dwg for an upcoming show which is pretty large. The dwg file size is about 40mb but once it is imported, the capture process is sitting on 7.2gig of ram.

I know that atlas is capable of running over 2gig now 64 bit is supported, so why is it running so slow?If I select an object to delete it takes about a minute for the selection to be shown, all other aspects of the software are also running extremely slow.

Is there anything I should know to avoid this? The only thing I can think of at the moment is to export the vwx design in stages, then import each component into capture and replace those components with inbuilt capture library objects.

It would be great if someone has some ideas on how I can get this show into capture and have it run a little smoothly.

:) looking forward to your ideas

Hi,

Without having seen the DWG file, if Capture ends up using 7.2 GB of RAM after loading it, it is simply far too complex in the sense that it contains a lot of geometry and lines. Real-time visualization is a performance demanding so keeping imported models at a minimum of detail is key.
