Hi,

Is anyone out there running capture on 2 or more gtx 1080 sli bridge? If so, is how does it look? Does anyone know if capture supports more than 2 cards?

Is anyone currently running 2x gtx 1080?

I personally have two 980tis and the SLI configuration isn't currently supported with Capture as far as I know.

Hi,

Capture is not really able to make good use of multiple GPUs, no.

Has this by any chance changed since 2017?

Will Capture 2020 benefit from multiple GPU's?  (E.g. NVIDIA SLI)

Even though Capture's rendering engine has been redesigned and greatly enhanced in the last few years, taking full advantage of SLI or other multi-GPU technologies has not yet been implemented.

Do you think this is something that might change in the future?

Also I was just wondering how capture would work if I had 2of the same gpu (not sli) for example a pair of 2080 ti.

The reason for 2 cards is I'd use 1 to drive the capture, and the other to take care of a multi monitor setup for lighting console interface and other non capture tasks.

Would capture then take full advantage of the sole GPU it is connected with, or might this cause issues for capture because there are 2 cards connected. Keen to hear some advice.

Having multiple cards in itself is no issue. Capture will only run on one, so you can take advantage of this card free of other load.

While it will work it seems like a big waste with a 2080Ti for non-3D applications.

I would think a single 2080 Ti hardly notice a couple of extra screens with 'normal' windows...

Have not tried a two GPU-card setup but I assume it would work with different cards too as long as you don't intend to use SLI. (So you could at least chose a cheeper card)

Most motherboards will reduce the speed (number of lanes) on the slots if more cards are added and that might reduce the performance on the main card.
