Hello

Sorry for the newbie question

What is the best way to draw an octagon? The reason is I have to create a stage that is basically octagon shaped.

Is it best to import from AutoCad if so how do I then create the height of the stage

thanks

Mark

Hello,

Click on the Library tab and expand the objects folder. Inside this folder you'll find the Forms folder. Expand that, and click and drag Cylinder into your 2D view.

Press Enter on your keyboard to pull the properties window for the Cylinder object.

Change the Y Rotation to -22.5

Change the Number of sections to 8

Start and End Diameter = width/depth
Length = height

Hope this helps!

I have a related question

is it possible to draw rhombus, trapezoid and parallelograms easily? The stage I am working with is a very odd shape.

Thanks

Mark

You can use our basic forms and change their properties. For anything more complicated we would advise you to use the free sketchup version and import it in Capture as .skp

Hi Mark,

Trapezoid: Go back to that cylinder :)
X Rotation= 90 degress
Number of sections= 3
Cut away= 50%

Parallelogram: cylinder again!
X Rotation= 90 degress
Number of sections= 4
Ovality= 50%
Cut away= 0%

Rhombus: just needs treaking from the settings of your parallelogram.

Best,
Johnny
