Hello.

In my view, the classification of flatscreens, both in the library items and in the reports, needs adjustment.

Ideally, we would have a generic monitor where we could input the desired Screen Size (in inches) for the "Flatscreen," and Capture would automatically calculate the Standard TV Dimensions for that desired Screen Size (while still allowing for manual overrides).

Sure, I could set it to "Unit," but then it would show up under all the "Others" items, which isn't ideal.

Also regarding flatscreens: the correct parameter isn't "Model," but rather "Aspect Ratio."

I suggest having two separate fields:
Screen Size: 27", 45", 85", etc. Written by the user.
Aspect Ratio: Standard 4:3, Wide 16:9, Wide 16:10, etc. Chosen by the user from the available options.

The reports currently display unsuitable information, showing "DisplaySize + Model", whereas it would be better to show "Screen Size + Aspect Ratio".

And please include a line for the rating.

Cheers,
OZ

Aditionally, the screen part should have material capable of playing back a media source.

Question: should the brightness (in nits) be a part of this?

I agree as the current library limits you to those sizes and then you need to create your own screen if you want to change the size. It makes far more sense to be able to define screen size and aspect ratio to a generic flat screen from the library as htis would save time. It also means you don't need a plethora of flat screens in the libray as the geneirc flat screen can be modified to your needs.

It does! Just drop in a flatscreen and change it from 19 to 55 inches (or whatever you want) and it scales up sensibly.  I use this quite often.

Are you using Imperial measures?

I didn't know this could already be done.

1. drop in any flatscreen from the library

2. selected items: adjust aspect ratio, screen size, bezel, thickness and screen material (in the material choose your brightness and media source)

3. visualize...

Perfect already.

Screen diagonals are in the measurement setting of the app. So if you are in metric you have to convert the e.g. 48" screen to 1.22m.

Wow, I didn't know that either!

So this time, the Capture team was faster than The Flash — they got it done before I even asked...😉

You don't need to do the maths.  Even if you're working in metric you can type 55" into a dimension slot and Capture will figure it out for you.

Hello.

Regarding the calculations, that’s fine, thanks.

However, the main point is that—at least to my knowledge—even in countries that use the metric system, measurements in inches are still widely used for monitors.
Therefore, presenting information for an 85-inch monitor as "2.159 m, 16:9 Widescreen" is not ideal.
Just in this case, it would be better to have the measurement in inches calculated and displayed automatically.

Also, regarding flat-screen displays: the correct parameter is not "Model" but rather "Aspect Ratio."

I suggest creating two separate fields in that order:
Screen Size: 27", 45", 85", etc. (entered by the user).
Aspect Ratio: Standard 4:3, Widescreen 16:9, Widescreen 16:10, etc. (selected by the user from the available options).

Additionally, please include a field for a rating, please.

Cheers,
Oz
