I think it would be very interesting to have the ability to create patterns for protected or non-selectable items.
This is not the same as a layer filter; it is something we would use in conjunction with them.
In other words: I select my layer filter to view certain objects, but I only want to modify a few of them at that moment. Then, I change the pattern (edit style). When finished, maintaining the same layer filter select another edit style and modify what I want... and so on.
Do you mean, you want to store the Locked and Uneditable fields in the Layers tab as a sort of set or 'scene' that you can recall?

It could be done this way, but...
For example, I create a layer filter to see everything, but I create another one where I can only manipulate the devices. Or another where I can only change truss, and so on.
The Scenes wouldn't work as well in this case.
I still do not get it completely. Do you mean that you want the checkmarks for Locked/Unselectable automatically uncheck, the moment you make the layer Active?
Like the example below (but automated):

Imagine I have this filter applied: WORK, where all layers are visible except for the measurements.
As you can see, no layer is protected. If I select the entire project set, logically, it will select every object.
But imagine if I could quickly access a protection filter that restricts selection to just fixtures—let's call it FIXTURES FREE! I select everything, and only the fixtures get selected. "Oh, but wouldn't a layer filter be easier?" No—I want to see *everything* when I make a selection!
I can quickly switch the protection filter to another one—TRUSS FREE, for example—and select only the trusses without having to constantly toggle layers on and off...
Is that clearer?
