Hello,

I need to add some of my own symbols to the project, which are not in the program, such as Dressingroom or other internal symbols. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this? I need to have it before I start generating plots/drawings.

Thanks a lot for your helps and idea :)

You can add your own symbols:

13.13 Symbols

Custom symbols can be imported by clicking the Add button. SVG files with shapes (vector-based content) can be imported - bitmap elements and text is not included. Symbols can be dragged and dropped both onto fixtures to replace their plot symbol but also straight into a design view to insert them as they are.

Use the Scale property to adjust the size of the symbol in the event the SVG was not drawn to scale.

Imported symbols are automatically centered. The Vertical offset property allows for an offset to fixtures that have an asymmetrical displacement.

The Aperture width property refers to the width of the front of the fixture and dictates the size of external accessories such as barn doors and top hats.

Every fixture type or simple symbol that you have added into your project is listed in the Symbolscategory. The library icon in the Type column indicates the symbol’s origin.

SymbolType

These are not editable, but you can drag and drop them onto any other fixture to replace its symbol, or just to add the symbol as a mere graphical representation of a fixture or other item.

If you wish to edit the symbol, you will need first to duplicate it. Simply right-click on it, or select it and press the More button at the bottom of the tab. Choose Duplicate and Replace With in Using Objectsand make the necessary adjustments. Maybe the scaling needs some adjusting, or you want to change the Annotation position etc.

Note: The scale of a symbol can also be adjusted from the Selected items category, having a fixture already selected. But this will only affect that one symbol, whereas changing the Scale property on the editable Symbol, will affect all of them.

EditableSymbolProperties

If you delete a symbol while in use, the fixture will loose the symbol as if you have changed the property of the Symbol Usage to “never”.

The symbol will remain in this category, even if you delete the fixture from your project.

The Select using objects option could be used to quickly identify fixtures using this symbol.

Important: When you have dragged a symbol into the project as a graphical representation, you will notice that the option to remove from the list it is no longer available. This is due to the fact that while the symbol is in use, it can’t loose the reference to its plot symbol. You will be able to remove it only after you have deleted it from the project.
