Hello,

I’m experiencing a serious performance issue in Capture 2025 on macOS and I’m hoping someone can help determine whether this is related to my project file or to a setting I may have overlooked.

I’m seeing approximately 1 second of latency when navigating the scene (pan, zoom, orbit). Even simple view changes feel delayed, which makes the software very difficult to use in practice.

A few notes:

  • The project file is about 23 MB

  • The lag is most noticeable during pan/zoom/orbit

  • Removing certain elements (for example, media or imported objects) seems to improve performance, but I’m not sure which elements are the real cause

  • This happens consistently and is not occasional stuttering

I’d really like to know:

  • Is this level of latency expected with certain project structures?

  • Are there known performance pitfalls (media, imported SketchUp geometry, layers, etc.) that could cause this?

  • Are there recommended settings or workflow adjustments to reduce or eliminate this delay?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. At the moment, the latency makes it almost impossible to work efficiently.

I’m attaching:

Best regards,
Pascal

Hello !

I have tried on my other mac less powerfull but running on SEQUOIA  15.7.1 with the same  file and it work perfectly.

I’m wondering if this could be related to recent macOS changes in Tahoe ???

Again thanks for your help !

We have tested the following steps on both Windows 11 and Mac M3 Max running Tahoe v26.2 with Capture version 2025.1.14, and they resolved navigation latency issues:
  1. The issue arises from the extremely narrow field of view of the Alpha-view camera, which is currently set to 6.3 degrees. Please change the Field of view to 45 degrees, which is the default setting. This should improve your navigation experience.  -- You can adjust this value in the Views category of the Design tab.

  2. Remove the hidden items from your project.
  3. Check that your reflection planes are properly aligned with the surfaces they reflect. Remove any reflection planes you are not using.
For more information on optimising Capture project performance, please see the Performance Tuning section in the Capture 2025 Reference Manual at https://www.capture.se/Ma...ml#PerformanceTuning If you experience similar performance issues or need personalised support, please contact support@capture.se.

Hello Vangelis !!!

That did the trick !  I don't know how it end up to 6.3° but, puting 45° in  ALPHA view fix my problem instantly.

Thanks a lot !
