To add a scale in the header of a plot, it would be very handy to have a variable like $(ViewScale). I am aware of the 'Show Scale' option but with this option enabled the scale is placed at a fixed location.

The fact that you could have multiple views in different scales in a plot - and in an underlay as well - means that there isn't necessarily one scale on a plot. But it could work as long as there is. It's an interesting idea.

I put the scale of my drawings in the underlay. This means that I need multiple underlays for different drawing scales. That would complicate things a bit further.
Maybe the scale field could be like an annotation that you could drag away from the defalt position, like you can do with the tail or centre annotations of fixtures and trusses?
