In Capture the Unit property seems to be a catch all for many kinds of annotation. I'd like to see it become just the Fixture hanging position ID, in line with standard LX drafting practice, and other LX lighting programs.
Whatever numbering convention one chooses to use, they all have in common that the fixtures are numbered sequentially on a defined hanging location, bar, boom etc.
When the Designer removes a fixture from that bar, or alters its position with the line of fixtures, everything should renumber. Otherwise, it makes a mockery of the way Electricians / Riggers are used to identifying the fixtures - eg "Unit 12 on Bar 5"  If the unit numbers are not tracked, then it can become very frustrating and time is lost.
You already have Sequential numbering for the Unit property, but it is confusing that it can be applied to any object, or every fixture in the rig as a sequence, regardless of position.

Maybe just create a new property called "Fixture Unit" or something if you want to keep the current behavior for other tasks?

cheers

There are so many ways of working with object identification that locking it down to a specific behaviour has a high likelihood of being an issue to many users. Being able to fill in the Unit property for other objects than fixtures is also important for paperwork, because unit information results in plot annotations as well.

I look forward to reading other users' thoughts on this.
