Hello,

I'd like to make a suggestion to help us save time.

What we're missing in the layers panel, is the ability to create folders and subfolders for the layers.

When you import a DWG file of a room,

it would be helpful to be able to group all the layers into a single folder to make working on the entire project easier.

Thank you for your comeback to me

Try this!!!

It's not a standard, but using characters before the layer name was the solution I found, using the following logic:

! Fixtures
!! Fixtures of the performance space
!!! Specials - CO2, flame, water, etc.
# Trusses
#+ Rigging Points
$ People, instruments, and objects directly related to the artists
( ) Movers and rotators
/distances
//measurements
@ everything that is already part of the performance space
[ ] Video
] [ Audio
no previous characters - smoke, HDRI, focus plane, reflection plane, reports

If you want to further sub-classify in order, add numbers: !1 Zeta Wash will rank higher than !2 Alpha Beam

Anyway, your request makes perfect sense!!!

Thanks Oz for your message.
I already work that way.
But when you import dozens of layers from a DWG file, it's never very practical.
All other software works with subfolders.
I hope this will be implemented soon in future updates.

Yes, me too. 😩

I rename all the layers with Xdwg in the beginning maintaing the original name after this, but of course; better have folders!

Maybe also may we have an option when import project, models, etc, like:

Create a new folder for the imported layers?
