I am building a rig that uses multiple SOCA cables and I was wondering if anyone has an idea on how to hanle the breakouts, specifically either a 12E box or a (what I call) medusa style breakout with edison receptacles.  The trouble is when I create an indivicual cable path from the end of the soca (pipe) to a fixture it creates a new cable on the reports and just a few of these makes for a long list...

Just looking for a better way to represent that.

Thanks!

We can suggest you these two practical solutions for managing your SOCA breakout documentation.

Option 1

Create a dedicated layer for your SOCA breakouts and all their associated tail cables. Then in your report, use the Filter property to exclude this layer from appearing in the cable documentation. The breakouts and tails stay in your design for reference and visualisation but simply do not appear in the final report output.

Option 2 (see attached image)

Import a custom SVG symbol representing your breakout configuration. Attach this symbol to your SOCA endpoints in the design. This provides a visual reference in your plots and can also be used alongside report items for cable documentation. By placing a report item at each one and specifying the breakout type (such as 12E box or PLB 101) the breakout information appears clearly in your cable reports.

1st, thank you again for the response, next - I chose to import a box that I created using sketchup, now I was wondering is there a way that I could include that as an item on an equipment or cable report?

If you insert a report item and group that to the imported model, you can include those into your reports.
