I have built a 3m x 3m truss square, which I would like to move as if there were a hoist on each corner. The truss is linked to a single vertical motion controller, which works just fine. I have then linked one rotator that allows me to rotate the truss and still adjust the vertical movement. I am trying to add a second rotator to rotate the truss in the opposite plane to the first. I have tried linking this second rotator to the motion controller or the other rotator, but I can not see to get it to function. Is this not possible, or did I miss something? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
That's the correct method.
Build your truss structure and group it together. Place two dmx rotators at the centre of the group and one dmx mover. Set the mover to be a Y-axis mover with the range you want it to move vertically. Set the two dmx rotators at 90 degrees, one aligned with the Top view, and one aligned with the Side view.
In the truss group, set the motion fixture to be one of the rotators. In that rotator, set the motion fixture to be the other rotator, and in the second rotator set the motion fixture to be the dmx mover. The order of parenting is important.
