Hello
Following up on the question I asked during yesterday’s webcast (06/18/25) about “assigning sequence by location”...

Just as we already have the ability to assign sequences by Label, Circuit, Patch, and Channel, I believe it would also be useful to have the option to assign sequences by Location.

Here’s an example of where this feature would be applied: when working on a theater project that includes many lighting and set design bars (bars, not Truss structures). It would be much faster to select all the lighting or set design bars and assign a location to them all at once, instead of doing it one by one. This would make the workflow more efficient.

This is a common request from many colleagues who design projects—especially for theater—where we often encounter situations like this.

Since we already have the ability to assign sequence by: Channels, Patch, Label or Circuit, it would be useful to also have the ability to assign sequence by location.

For example if you're working on project that includes 50 light/scenary bars and you'd like to name and number them. Then the fixtures will have a reference to their location name/number automatically.

When you changed from unit to location this reference was lost.

Do you mean actually giving the lighting bars 'Location' data? as in labelling them Lighting Bar 1, Lighting Bar 2, Lighting bar 3 etc... or giving the location data to fixtures?

I can see how this might be quite useful in some circumstances, when you're creating a theatre plot from scratch for example.

We already have the location data of the devices as we assign the devices to the light bars that already have location information. My request is the possibility of assigning location sequences to multiple light bars at the same time, instead of having to do it one by one...

I discovered the same issue a few days ago. I would very much want this to come back as: Sequential -> Location
