    Hi,

    another newbie here.

I have a few LED Fixtures from Unknown vendors. I'm sure there is a suitable fixture in the generic section. But how do I see the DMX Layout of the fixtures in the Library? There should be some view where I can see which DMX Channel is mapped to which funktion.

Am I too blind to see it?

If you know the channel layout of your actual lights, you can use the Avolites fixture finder, Chamsys fixture finder or fixture.id to find a fixture with the same channel layout. The Avolites finder also tells you if there's a capture profile for the result fixture, as they have capture integration in their consoles.

In capture, once you've inserted a fixture into the project and patched it you can switch the universe view to 'Fixture' mode, rather than the default 'channel' mode. This shows you the channel layout and current values of each fixture, but isn't a particularly efficient way to find a matching fixture.

    Thank you!

The Avolites Finder works super nice.

Also the Tip with the fixture mode is super helpful.

But I do have a follow Up question:

I found some fixtures which almost match my device.

I have some Small Scanners with Color and Gobo Wheel

The DMX Layout fits, but the color wheel is different.

Is there a way to edit the Layout of a fixture to make the color wheel match reality?

You can't edit any fixtures within capture, but you should request your fixtures to be added to the fixture library (email library@capture.se with fixture information and accurate dmx chart).
