When using align on grouped items, the alignment should not break the group and align the individual items from the group, but it should align the group as a whole.

Example: when a truss structure is built out of individual elements (corners, sections, etc.) and you want to align multiple such structures, it should not pile up the individual parts, but leave the structures as a whole once they are grouped.

Agree. This caught me out a couple of times too. In my case it was some staging. I’d created, and duplicated some groups of stage decks and legs. Then when I aligned them all my stage legs were down the centre of the decks!

Agree that this shouldn't happen, but I'm also not sure it is happening? I just tried it to verify and can't get it to behave as you describe. Would you please reach out to support@capture.se if you are still experiencing this?

I believe I've just come up against this same issue. video demonstrating problem here: https://www.dropbox.com/s...06tnusgu7ic4aae&dl=0

Description: I've got a truss structure grouped together. I can move it around and select it as a single item.  I then have lights on the truss.

If I select the group and all the lights, and then centre align it all my grouped truss re-arranges itself. It remains grouped, just incorrectly built!

My file is under investigation at tech support. They saw the same thing happening and will definitely find a solution.
