Lighwright Lightweight uses Circuitname and Circuit#. So it would be great if Circuitname could be implemented in Capture as well.
I would love to hear / see examples of how you use these fields? What is the difference between a circuit name and circuit number in your view?
In a multicore/loom, it might be easier to separate the cable's name from the circuit of the break-out box. So cable A would have break-in A and break-out A, each with 8 circuits. You'd have circuits A-1, A-2, etc.
For exports to other software, it is nice to be able to have that in separate columns for sorting purposes.
Let's try to be a bit more specific with my request.
I have a rig that consists of multicables, single dimmers, 4-channel dimmers, etc.
Normally in Capture I would name the circuits for multicables A.1 - A.6, B.1 - B.6, etc.
Circuits for dimmers in the rig I would name Dimmer1.1 - Dimmer1,4, etc.
Lightwright only allows single digit prefixes A-Z, but has the concept of an additional data field for multicables. If I give a circuit a name like Dimmer1.1 in Capture, it will show up as D in Lightwright. Therfore no circuit# Dimmer1.6 in Lightwright. If Capture differentiated between multicable and circuit number, I could name the multicable Dimmer1 and give circuit 1 on that dimmer circuit number 1.
Then we could better share data between Capture and Lightwright in a meaningfull way.
Does this make anny sense to you?
So it sounds to me as if you would have liked Capture's Circuit property to be split on a . so that everything before the dot goes into LightWright's Circuitname and everything after it into Circuit#.
So if in Capture you have Circuit = "Dimmer 1.3", the export would give you Circuitname = "Dimmer 1" and Circuit# = "3".
Would that be correct?
