When importing an mvr, you choose the correct fixtures and modes to match to the MVR file. You may find you need to make changes to the original drawing in whatever software it was drawn in. And then import a new version of the MVR to Capture. When doing this, you have to choose all the correct fixtures and modes again. Could Capture remember the previous matches you set on import to speed things up?

I really hope to see this and many more improvenemts to the implemenattion of mvr (GDTF).

It would greatly benefit my workflow if going back and forth between multiple apps that support this standard becomes effortless. Remembering the associations between the GDLT fixture and the fixture in the Capture (Atlabase) library would realy help.

I have the follwoing workflow on many projects:

  1. Set design comes from Vectorworks
  2. Theatre plot (including fixed lighting plot) form AutoCad or PDF
  3. Light design in Capture
  4. Export to Eos from Capture
  5. Correct patch, import back into Capture from Eos
  6. Correct set design, import again into Capture
  7. Output all plot back into Vectorworks for the technical producer.

Or in any other order you can think off.

Somehow autocorrect bit me. GDLT must be GDTF. ;-)
