It would be fine if the positions (XYZ/XY) kan be addded to reports.
In that case a fixturereport would have all the information to set up a rig. Especially for large rigs, you can then hang the fixtures in the truss with all the information on a report.
That is sometimes easier to hang fixtures than a plan.
