Capture 2026 revision history
The first release of Capture 2026 was version 2026.0.32, the 22nd of April 2026.
Version 2026.1.5, released the 1st of September 2026
- Video Input
- The use of local video input in media and while editing fixture corrections did not work on macOS.
- Scrolling
- Scroll wheels on non-Apple mice scrolled both vertically and horizontally on macOS.
- Backspace
- The backspace key did not work in some text input fields on Windows.
- Annotation Mirroring
- Mirroring objects with plot annotations could cause the annotations to misbehave when moved later.
Version 2026.1.4, released the 27th of August 2026
- DWG, DXF, PDF
- Updated software libraries for model import.
- NDI
- Updated to NDI 6.3.2.
- NDI
- Added support for NDI in exported presentations.
- CITP
- Added support for new CITP features that allow for more than 256 universes.
- Patch Paste
- Added support for pasting text into patch properties.
- Production Assist
- Added the standard Model Export dialog (with filter and selection options) when sending to Production Assist.
- Blacktrax Options
- Added the ability to choose between Stage and Screen coordinate systems.
- LED Strip
- Increased the pixel pitch allowed in the Generic LED Strip.
- SketchUp Import
- Importing a SketchUp file with an empty texture could lead to a crash.
- Stage Decks
- Snapping of stage decks had a tendency to flip decks upside down.
- Plot Power
- The power location could render at an incorrect location in front and section views.
- Mouse Scroll
- Horizonal mouse wheels on Windows did not work in some views.
- Internationalisation
- Dead key composition, access to the accent menu and the character candidate windows did not work in some views on macOS.
- Scaling
- The Scale Drawing Unit command changed the position of objects relative the camera's focus plane rather than the center of the selected objects.
- Zoom Corrections
- Zoom corrections were not available for some multi-aperture fixtures with a nearly round arrangement of apertures.
Version 2026.0.40, released the 20th of August 2026
- Texture Luminance
- Materials with texture generators did not update after being patched unless the luminance was changed again or the project was reloaded.
- Install Path
- The installation path chosen during installation on Windows had no effect.
- Frame Lists
- The context menu in the frame list editor could not be opened on Windows.
- Layer Priority
- The layer paper priority did not work for measurements.
Version 2026.0.39, released the 29th of June 2026
- Control Pane
- Text input remained enabled for uncontrollable parameters.
- Truss Update
- Scenes states were not correctly replicated when updating static truss.
- Light Flickering
- Lights could occasionally flicker unexpectedly during visualisation on Windows.
- Universe Patch
- The Capture option for cross universe patching was not taken into account when opening old projects.
- Shortcuts
- The Ctrl+Enter keyboard shortcut could occasionally stop working.
Version 2026.0.38, released the 11th of June 2026
- Truss Dimensions
- Truss dimensions were not shown in reports.
- Present. Snapshots
- Horizontal scrolling of many snapshots in presentation files did not work.
- Line Snapper
- The rotation anchor placement for line snappers was incorrect.
Version 2026.0.37, released the 2nd of June 2026
- CITP Focusing
- Capture could hang when focusing fixtures using CITP.
- Selection
- Partial selection of imported objects with lines did not work.
Version 2026.0.36, released the 28th of May 2026
- Export Project
- Exporting projects with star cloth texture generators to older Capture versions produced unreadable project files.
- System Fonts
- The wrong system fonts could be used for parts of the user interface on Mac.
- Fixture Replace
- Replacing fixtures with fixtures of other types could fail to remove properties that are not supported by the replacement fixture.
- Custom Fixtures
- The Student Edition could not open project files with custom fixture definitions in them.
- Measure Rotation
- The rotation anchor did not center correct on measures.
Version 2026.0.35, released the 13th of May 2026
- DWG Import
- Solids in a mix of hidden and visible layers could be skipped on import.
- Replace Truss
- Materials could be lost when replacing trusses with static trusses.
- Plot Scale
- The scale indication in plot view insets was lost when exporting plots to PDF.
- Rotation Anchor
- The rotation anchor was not placed correctly when selecting a single annotation in plot mode.
- Fill Lighting
- Fill lighting could get "stuck" when turning lights off on Windows (due to a bug in certain AMD video card drivers).
Version 2026.0.34, released the 4th of May 2026
- Plot Text
- Inserting keywords into plot text insets while in dark mode on macOS could result in unreadable text.
- Gobo Indexing
- Jumping between the minimum and maximum angles of gobo indexing could result in a extra jittery motion.
- Object Distribution
- Distributing widgets already aligned on an axis could produce unpredictable results.
- Transparent Images
- Colour gradients in images used with the built-in image object were rendered, producing unpredictable depth order.
- Pixelated Lighting
- Beams and footprints could appears pixelated on Windows.
- Sling Loads
- Slings loads did not read back correctly from Production Assist on Windows.
- Plot Content
- Plot content dependent in filters, such as in keys and reports, did not update correctly if the filter was edited.
- Rotation Anchor
- The rotation anchor did not respect plot adjustments when selecting objects, appearing on the objects' original location.
Version 2026.0.33, released the 28th of April 2026
- Distribution
- Using the navigator to distribute objects that are aligned on some axis could cause them to jitter.
- Context Menu
- Context menus did not open on right click in property tables on Windows.
- Sequential Patch
- The sequential patch command did not update to use the next available patch when complete.
- Alt Gr
- Inputting characters using Alt Gr on Windows did not work.
- PNG Images
- Greyscale PNG images with an alpha channel were not supported.
- Render Banding
- Banding could appear in renders with high variation smoke boxes.
