Jean-Michel Jarre - Special Summer Live Tour

Showcases  showcases

Jean-Michel Jarre started touring once again in 2026, celebrating 50 years since the release of his iconic album “Oxygène” in 1976. We had the chance to meet his associate creative director and designer, Jvan Morandi of Placing Shadows studio, who chose Capture to design and program this tour.

The entire project, from initial tests and R&D to pre-visualisation and pre-programming, was based on Capture. The show blends lighting, lasers, and video content seamlessly, all brought together by Jvan and his team. All design elements were created in Capture, with a couple done in SketchUp.

Jvan has been using Capture for many years, with other major artists like Placebo and Faithless, and has noted that “the new 2026 version has dramatically improved the smoke haze and had a great impact on the laser visualisation, which looks more realistic than in previous versions”.

Jvan also noted that “the addition of the dedicated right view and new patch capabilities like patching across universe boundaries, as well as layer grouping, have improved the technical drawing capabilities noticeably”.

According to Jvan “previsualisation tools have become fundamental in the fast-paced touring industry and Capture’s continuous improvements in rendering and design capabilities have made it invaluable during preproduction in my studio, before we hit the road. Capture optimisation and handling of 3D models, along with fast plot and paperwork creation, all running on a lightweight machine, have made my life so much easier”.

The event took place on Monday the 22nd of June 2026 at the Release Athens X SNF Nostos Festival in Athens, Greece.
